Dr. Erica Alexander, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Health Sciences

Dr. Alexander has led the HU Health Sciences compliance function since 2021.  She comes to Howard with almost 20 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist and over ten years of experience in healthcare compliance.  She has specialized certifications and trainings related to healthcare quality, fraud, and privacy.  Dr. Alexander is passionate about thoughtful operational design with compliance engineered into the workflows in order to protect Howard and give care providers more time to focus on our patients.  She has spent time professionally in large and small healthcare systems, with executive leadership roles in business development, contracting and as a chief of staff. 

Why Howard?

The opportunity to come to Howard was truly a calling.  I find the combination of impacting health care delivery systems and building the best scholars in higher education deeply gratifying.  The Mecca has influenced the lives of many of my family and friends that call her their alma mater; now it’s my turn to carry the mantle and pour into the legacy of propelling Howard Forward.
