Irene Henrich, Director of Compliance and Privacy

Irene joined the HU Office of Audit and Compliance in August of 2022 as the Director of Compliance and Privacy. She comes with 25 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist in various care settings and 10 years of healthcare compliance experience with a focus on regulatory and clinical compliance, privacy and process improvement. She has the national certification for healthcare compliance (CHC) and was recently chosen to participate in the 2023 FBI Compliance Academy as 1 of 50 international participants representing various industries. 

Irene is a fervent champion of open and transparent engagement and collaboration with the Howard University students, faculty, staff and all stakeholders to enhance a strong compliance culture that focuses on risk mitigation, quality assurance and inherent accountability.
