The National FinTech Center at Morgan State University
Morgan State University’s National Center for the Study of Blockchain and FinTech (The FinTech Center) advances FinTech research and education by bringing together university leaders, HBCU faculty, and students. Since its founding in 2018, the Center has supported innovative blockchain projects and received multi-year grants from Ripple for curriculum development and research. As part of Ripple’s global University Blockchain Research Initiative, the Center offers workshops and collaborates with industry experts to diversify the workforce and foster engagement in financial technology among HBCUs.
HUxPNC National Center for Entrepreneurship
The National Center for Entrepreneurship is an innovative resource network focused on enhancing entrepreneurship education at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and empowering Black entrepreneurs around the country. The National Center enhances the success and growth of Black-owned businesses through providing programming, capital, curriculum, research, and other resources in collaboration with HBCUs and their surrounding communities.

Norfolk State University Innovation Center
The Norfolk State University Innovation Center (NSUIC) fosters an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Hampton Roads through partnerships with the city of Norfolk, the SBA, and others. Serving as a business incubator, NSUIC promotes job creation, investment, and global engagement. Its support includes events, a co-working platform, startup training, and strategic partnerships. NSUIC also provides space and networking resources for startups and offers mentorship, featuring guest experts in areas like law, accounting, marketing, and HR to guide new and existing clients.
Howard University Center for Applied Data Science & Analytics
The Center for Applied Data Science and Analytics (CASDA) at Howard University promotes interdisciplinary data science research focused on economic empowerment, minority health, social and environmental justice. CASDA supports HU researchers with resources to generate data-driven insights, track research trends, and position Howard’s research to influence these areas. CASDA’s research philosophy—Inquire, Inform, Intervene—guides its work, from converting data into actionable information to addressing critical issues. This broad approach engages faculty across HU to tackle challenges affecting the African American community and the African diaspora.

The North Carolina A&T Center of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation is the university’s central hub for entrepreneurial growth, integrating ideas from labs and classrooms with startup support, business, and community partnerships. It fosters entrepreneurial thinking and drives economic development through collaboration with the university’s eight colleges. The Center aims to improve quality of life and enhance global competitiveness by taking innovations from concept to market. Spelman College's Innovation Lab offers students three main areas of creative and entrepreneurial exploration. The Makerspace and Digital Fab Lab enable ideation, design, and prototyping across disciplines. The Entrepreneurship Hub provides resources for students pursuing business ventures. Additionally, the Game Design Studio emphasizes storytelling through video game development, making it accessible to students of all majors and fostering creative expression through interactive media.
