Winter Weather Advisory Operational Status: REMOTE OPERATIONS

HOWARD UNIVERSITY INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE 

Updated Monday, January 6, 2025, at 9:00 p.m.

OPERATIONAL STATUS FOR TUESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2025:  REMOTE OPERATIONS

-Howard University’s Main Campus and West Campus are closed to non-essential personnel.  

  • Only essential personnel are expected to report to work on campus. If further clarification is needed, please contact your supervisor.
  • All other employees are expected to work remotely. If you are unable to work remotely, please use accrued paid leave. The remote workday for all non-instructional services will proceed during normal operating hours without a weather delay. 

-Instructional Status:

  • Classes for law students, dental students, and first and second-year medical students, normally scheduled for in-person instruction, will be held through online instruction at their normal start time. Students should contact their instructors for further information on how to attend classes remotely.
  • Clinical experiences for third and fourth-year medical students will follow the inclement weather policy. Classes normally held online will proceed as scheduled.

  • Open; Normal operations

-Howard University Hospital: 

  • Open; Normal operations
  • Emergency Transportation for Essential Staff: Transportation to and from the hospital will be provided for essential HUH employees (doctors, nurses, and critical staff).  

-Health Services: 

  • Faculty Practice Plan: Telehealth appointments only 

  • Student Health Center: Closed 

-University Libraries: 

  • Founders Library:  Closed
  • Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library: Closed
  • Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Law Library: Closed
  • Wayne A. I. Frederick Undergraduate Library: Closed    

-iLab: 

  • Closed 

-Residence Halls: 

  • Closed

  • Blackburn Cafe: Open from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. only

  • Bethune Annex Cafe: Closed

  • Main Bookstore (Georgia Avenue): Open from 12:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. only
  • Howard University Law School Bookstore: Closed  

-Early Childhood Learning Center:

-Mail Services:

-Graphics & Printing Services: 

  • Closed  

-Shuttle Service:  

  • Not Running 

-WHUR/WHUT: 

  • Normal operations
